Information Security Session at Ibri College of Applied Sciences
Under the efforts of Ibri COAS to educate Omani society about Information Security, it invited OCERT Ambassadors, Mr. Talal Alasmi (Professional Ambassador), to conduct a session about cyber security. Mr. Alasmi was started its presentation talking about OCERT vision, objectives and its role to stop cybercrimes, protect networks and spread the awareness of IS.
In addition, he explained how Oman CERT deal with cybercrime, starting from receiving the incident until solving the issue. Mr. Talal gave some advices to attendees (42 students and faculty) regarding keeping their devices safe and the most IS frequency questions during carrier interview.
Mr. Alasmi said that one of main goal of Oman CERT is to increase IS abilities into Omani people to keep the network in Oman safe and secure and he emphasized that Information Security is everybody responsibility. He closed his session by talked about how to keep your password strong.
