I am Viswanathuni Brahma, head of Audit (Technology, Infrastructure, Projects, Operations and Support Functions) in Bankmuscat. I come with 20 years of experience in IT Audit, Risk Management, IT Security consulting, IT Governance, Digital Forensics and Fraud Investigations. Have worked in different regions within the Middle East over past 15 years in banking and petroleum refining industry. Additionally possess 10 years of banking operations experience. Bagged several technical and IT security related certifications - CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP, PMP, ITIL(F), BS 17999 LA, CCNA and MCP. An MBA from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta, one the the premier business colleges in India. Assisted various teams in developing capability for conducting IT security assessments and establishing cost-effective risk mitigation. Liaised with management teams in organizations in order to garner support for their IT security teams in their initiatives better security controls - this entails speaking business language and converting investment into acceptable returns (ROI). Member of various international security forums and spoke on various security and governance related topics on several forums.

Reason for interest in the OCERT Ambassadorship is penchant for contributing to the society and development of Oman in the field of IT security and related areas. I am happy to spare some of my private time for this cause provided OCERT is glad to extend me this opportunity. I see myself who can be both a good team player an effective team leader.
